Daniel Boone, Trail Blazer

Daniel Boone, Trail BlazerOne of the most famous episodes of Boone’s life, when he led 50 settlers in the fall of 1773 to new lands in Kentucky, founded the Bunsborough settlement named after him and lost one of his sons in the Shawnee raid.

Romantic and dramatized in the spirit of the 50’s (remember also Ford’s “Drums of the valley of Mohauk” – again there is an evil Englishman, who in that film played John Carradin). Quite unexpectedly, see Lena Cheney, who usually played in Westerns, such precipitous, serious citizens of border towns, as the Indian leader Black Fish.
